There are a ton of different ways that you can actually use to make a living in the stock market. Each of these ways is legitimate and has real people using it ever year.

So what are these ways to create a good living from stocks? Here is a list of 5 strategies, each is more powerful, yet harder to master than the one before it.

1. Buy Dividend Stocks

The easiest method to generate a monthly cash flow in the stock market is through great dividend paying stocks. You simply buy a stock that pays out a nice dividend to their stockholders and hold onto it for a while. You are constantly making money and you even benefit as the stock appreciates.

This is the easiest strategy to manage which will have you making an income without having to constantly check your stocks. The only problem with this method is that it takes a lot of money to actually make a living with it.

2. Sell Stock Options

Selling options can be much more creative and powerful than simply investing in large dividend stocks because they allow you to make a consistent cash flow from the stock market while at the same time taking on a low risk kind of a trade.

There are many creative methods you can use within this one strategy. You can make money through covered call writing or selling option spreads or even by selling a few naked puts on stocks you would not mind owning. It does require you to be more active and does take some time to get the hang of it, but It can definitely be well worth it.

3. Swing Trade

Another great strategy is called swing trading. This strategy can be incredibly powerful, yet incredibly risky as well. What happens here is an individual simply attempts to profit from the small up and down movements in the stock market.

So instead of investing for a 15 year period before selling a swing trader might be in a stock for only a few days and rarely over a week.

The key to being profitable with this strategy is really in keeping your losses as small as possible and keeping your profits very large by comparison. This gives them the ability to afford to have a series of losses and make it all back with one big gain.

4. Daytrading

I haven’t personally had very much experience when it comes to daytrading, but the principal is simply making trades that last shorter than 1 day. A daytrader may open and close a position 5 times throughout the day before they are done.

I have met a few individuals who do make their living online through daytrading so they are real. But the strategy may only work well for a very small percentage of people.

In the end it really depends how much risk you want to take. The strategies with the greatest potential are also the ones that take the most time and effort. And most people will do better staying with one strategy.
